School runs escorts
We are currently recruiting escorts to travel with children on school runs. Working hours are typically 8:00am to 9:15am and 3:15pm to 4:30pm on weekdays during term time. You will be required to undergo detailed DBS checks and training. All costs are covered by us.

Not at all! When you join the Jake’s Cars team, you’ll automatically see pre-booked rides from the entire YLC group family right in your driver app. This means more opportunities to earn and more journeys to choose from, all at times that suit your schedule.
Do you offer flexible working hours?
Absolutely. We offer flexible, well-paying driving roles across West Sussex Surrey and Hants. Whether you’re looking to put in a few hours during the day or prefer the night shift, the choice is yours. All journeys are managed by our state-of-the-art tracking and dispatch system. You simply decide when you’re ready to work and pick from a range of pre-booked journeys, including those lucrative airport runs.
How does the customer pay and how do I get paid?
We make it easy for everyone. Customers can pay via the app, using a handheld contactless unit (for card and Apple Pay) that we provide, or occasionally in cash. All electronic payments go directly to Your Local Car.
As a driver, you’ll receive a pre-agreed rate or percentage for every job. Our system keeps clear records of all your fares, so you’ll always have a transparent breakdown of your billing and earnings. Plus, we ensure our drivers are paid weekly!
Are there higher-value jobs available, like airport transfers?
Absolutely! Our customers rely on us for comfortable, hassle-free transfers to Heathrow, Gatwick, City, and Southampton airports. We also take cruise passengers heading to and from Southampton docks cruise zterminal. They love the extra space in our exec vans for all their luggage since they don’t have to worry about flight baggage weight limits!
Can you help me get a Private Hire Vehicle (PHV) licence?
At Jake’s Cars, we offer both driver training and full support with your PHV licence application. Just ask us for the details during your interview! We also welcome drivers who already hold their Hackney Carriage or local PHV licences.
